Our History
In 1848, the Gold Hill mines were in full production and a need for a church developed. The original church, Gold Hill Methodist Episcopal Church South, was located on the Rowan-Cabarrus county line where the cemetery remains today. The congregation relocated one half mile into Rowan County and built a new church in 1883. Today, the church sits in the heart of the Historic Village of Gold Hill among several historic sites and attractions.
Our physical location is 730 Saint Stephens Church Road, Gold Hill, NC. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 52, Gold Hill, NC 28071.
